About Us
If you've been around here for a little while, you may have noticed a rebrand and change of scope.
Maisy's Quilt's started as Denim and Sage Handmade featuring Metis beaded moccasins, earrings and custom quilts. I first started selling beadwork on Etsy in 2014 and then shifted to Shopify in 2020 adding quilts. In 2020 alone, I mailed 581 pairs of earrings to 15 different countries, 3 pairs of fully beaded moccasins and 6 custom quilts.
Why the shift? It's threefold.
- After the last 10+ busy years of creating beaded earrings and moccasin's, I am not sure I can come up with any new designs. It's been a year since I created a new design.
- I love shopping for fabric and was also finding it hard to source what I liked in my area.
- And finally, it also helps that I can put that Masters Degree in Business Administration that I worked so hard on to good use.
Welcome to Maisy's Quilts featuring Denim and Sage Handmade where we sell curated quilting fabric online along with Metis beaded earrings. Our fabric selection is a mixed identity of modern, boho, cottage quilting with a special selection of kids fabrics.
For now Maisy's is strictly online. Once we build our new house in a couple years, we will launch our home based store front located right off a major highway and pavement in between Drayton Valley and Entwistle, Alberta.

The very first thing I ever quilted was this lovers knot placemat (with very questionable fabric choices but it was the mid 90's okay!). Pictured here is my sister in the front and me in the back with that trendy thick headband and purple overalls in grade 5. We were at the Easyford Hall Quilters semi annual retreat; a retreat I remember going to with my Grambear (the same lady who taught me to bead) and being so little I napped under her table while she sewed.
The very first quilt I ever finished was a king size Lovers Knot that I made from watching the YouTube tutorial. It was a wedding gift I made after I graduated University. But the very first quilt I kept for myself was a Log Cabin - also the reason it was chosen as the block for the logo.
We are so blessed to have 2 beautiful young daughters - our bossy but very compassionate toddler Mable-Ann and our already independent but not a fan of strangers baby Maisy-Jo. Hopefully one day I will get to pass down our traditional Metis teachings through beadwork/moccasin making and teach them how to quilt, just as my Grambear did to me.
Please contact me for any questions or comments on fabrics you'd like to see.
If you'd like pictures of your fabric selections together or need help pulling fabrics, I am most definitely here to help!
